What you get
Looking for hardwood floor cleaning in Houston?
Retail floor cleaners can give short-term results, but they can also cause unseen damage and let dirt and grime build up over time. The Chem-Dry Wood Floor Cleaning Process combines cleaning and polishing: a proprietary core cleaner and counter-rotating brushes reach into the grain, a powerful vacuum extracts the moisture with the dirt, and a wood floor polish highlights the grain and adds a layer of protection until your next cleaning.

- HEPA vacuuming before the deep clean
- Minimal water on your floors

Our hardwood floor cleaning process
- Vacuum. HEPA filter vacuums remove surface dust and dirt, so you almost never need to vacuum or mop beforehand.
- Clean. A proprietary core cleaner removes dirt, grime and non-living allergens such as pet dander and dust mite matter.
- Scrub. Counter-rotating brushes work into the grain of the wood with minimal water.
- Extract. A powerful vacuum lifts the moisture along with the dirt and grime.
- Polish. A wood floor polish highlights the grain and adds a protective layer until the next cleaning.
Hardwood Floor Cleaning FAQs
What does professional hardwood floor cleaning include?
HEPA vacuuming, a proprietary core cleaner, counter-rotating brushes with minimal water, vacuum extraction and a finishing coat of wood floor polish.
How is professional wood floor cleaning different from mopping?
Vacuuming and mopping keep floors clean day to day, but a film of dirt and grime still builds up and can speed up wear. A professional cleaning removes that film and restores the look of your floors.
How much water does professional hardwood floor cleaning use?
Very little. The brushes clean with minimal water and a powerful vacuum extracts the moisture along with the dirt, which protects the floor from moisture damage.
Which wood floors can be professionally cleaned, including engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl?
Oak, cherry, maple, walnut, bamboo, cork, reclaimed hardwood, engineered wood and luxury vinyl tile (LVT). If your floor is not on the list, ask us.
Does professional hardwood floor cleaning include polishing?
Yes. The process finishes with a wood floor polish that highlights the grain and adds a layer of protection until the next cleaning.
Does professional cleaning remove pet dander and dust from wood floors?
Our proprietary core cleaner removes dirt, grime and non-living allergens such as pet dander and dust mite matter, after HEPA filter vacuums remove the surface dust.
Do I need to vacuum or mop before a professional hardwood floor cleaning?
Almost never. Our technicians remove surface dirt and dust with HEPA filter vacuums before the deep clean.
How often should hardwood floors be professionally cleaned?
Chem-Dry recommends every 6 to 12 months. Floors with more foot traffic may need cleaning more often.
How should hardwood floors be cleaned between professional cleanings?
Vacuum and mop regularly with products formulated for your type of floor. If you are not sure which product to use, ask your technician.

Excellent service from H-Town Chem-Dry! Dante and Byron were punctual, professional, and extremely polite. They took great care when handling our furniture and surrounding belongings, which we really appreciated. They cleaned our king-size upholstered bed and four barstools, and everything came out beautifully. The upholstery looks fresh, clean, and noticeably brighter. They were thorough, respectful of our home, and made the entire process easy from start to finish. We’re extremely pleased with the results and would absolutely recommend H-Town Chem-Dry. We’ll definitely use them again!Posted on Google![]()

Wonderful experience! Process was very communicative and thorough. Carpet looks great and house smells great too. I have small kids so finding a treatment that was non toxic was important. Would definitely recommend!
